Athens National Archaeological MuseumThe collections of Greek antiquity housed at the museum create a visual summary of all we have learned about ancient Greece.
We return to our hotel but in different rooms from Day 1, this time we are not streetside and it is much quieter. We spend the afternoon wandering the Plaka, absorbing the vibe, knowing tomorrow is our day to say goodbye. Enjoying one last set of drinks from our rooftop bar and then our delicious Last Supper with the tour family.

All Good Things End Too Soon |
An afternoon flight back to Philly gives us welcome breathing time for a relaxed breakfast, time to pack, and a few more moments to leisurely wander the Plaka before we take a cab to the airport. Goodbye Greece. It's been a pleasure to get to know you. We hope to visit again sometime soon. ❤️
Greece surprised us. It was not all what we envisioned. We expected the ancient history and corresponding ruins, but the glorious mountains - we didn't know Greece was so mountainous. And we love the mountains. The coastal beauty was something we counted on in Ireland, but never gave that a thought when we anticipated Greece. Wow, such delightful coastal towns with spectacular blue waters. We will forever remember that marvelously scenic Mani Peninsula! Since we didn't want to Island Hop and miss all that mainland Greece had to offer, our visit to Hydra was island perfection. One quiet, relaxing picturesque island was just we we needed. In fact, Greece was just what we needed. We would do it all again in a heartbeat.
We are so thankful for the opportunity we had to visit Greece and for Rick Steves Europe for executing another excellent tour experience.
